The Faith Influence by Rev. Mitchell Mang’eli

THE FAITH INFLUENCE

We are created for God’s Glory

Psalms 139:16

2nd Corinthians 5:20

We are the temple of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 6:18-19

“Run from sexual immorality! All other sins people commit are external to the body, but immorality involves sinning against your own body. Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary.”

Revelation 1:6 (TPT)

And to the one who has appointed us as a kingdom of priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion throughout the eternity of eternities. Amen.

1 Peter 2:9 (TPT)
9 But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings,
a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones.
He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light,
and now he claims you as his very own.
He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.

Hebrews 11:25 (TPT)
He chose instead to suffer mistreatment with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.

God’s Will is God’s Choice.

  • If you choose right, you will live right and vice versa.
  1. Faith should influence your choices.

Your choices are based on facts and intuitions.

  • Life is about choices, some we regret, some we applaud, some will live to haunt us.
  • We are what we choose to be
  • The right choice is not the easy or the convenient one.

Genesis 14:

  • Wherever God’s grace takes you, he will keep you.
  1. Choose to be carried by God’s word

Psalm 119:105 (TPT)
Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of your word makes my pathway clear.

Proverbs 3:5 (TPT)
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make.

Isaiah 30:21 (TPT)
When you turn to the right or turn to the left, you will hear his voice behind you to guide you, saying, “This is the right path; follow it.”

  1. When you have to choose, choose what is right not what is left

Deuteronomy 30:19 (TPT)
I call heaven and earth to witness this day that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses. Choose life, so that you and your descendants may live!

When I’m about to make a decision there is a cloud of witnesses

  • Life is a person, God is Life (Deutronomy 30:20)
  • The choices you make affects the people who did not choose.
  1. Choose what is right not what is Convenient

Proverbs 14:12 (TPT)
You can rationalize it all you want and justify the path of error you have chosen, but you’ll find out in the end that you took the road to destruction.

Proverbs 13:13 (TPT)
If you scorn the Word, you will suffer consequences; but if you respect and trust the commandment, you will be rewarded.

Genesis 26:34-35 (TPT)
When Esau was forty years old, he took as his wives Judith, the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath, the daughter of Elon the Hittite. But they made life bitter and difficult for Isaac and Rebekah.

  • Choices can affect people who never made the decision.
  1. Choose that which exhibits faith you inhibit.

Joshua 24:14-16 (TPT)

14 “So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone.
15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
16 The people replied, “We would never abandon the Lord and serve other gods.”

  1. Choose what is imm not what is ugre

Value God’s Presence over Man’s Presents

Genesis 39:3-5 (KJV)
And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

  • Value what no man can give you. God’s presence is a treasure you need.
  • God’s presence gives you favour. People always admire being around you due to God’s presence.
  • Holyspirit loves attention the way a spouse needs. He can beacon you to go to the place of fellowship with him.
  • Promotion might at times be due to what you carry inside of you. E.g. Joseph
  • On geneology of Jacob, the Bible states Joseph only because he carried the presence which made him unique

Genesis 37:2 (KJV)
These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

  • Whatever you get by the presence, you maintain by the presence.

When you treasure his presence, it makes you to shun away from things

Daniel 1:5-8 (KJV)

5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

  • Their defiling did not make them miss King’s food but also other advantages in the kingdom.

Daniel 1:9-10 (KJV)

9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

After they shun away, God gave them new names

Daniel 1:15 (KJV)
And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.

  1. Value God’s Approval over Man’s Presents

1 Samuel 13:14 (KJV)

But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

Matthew 17:5 (KJV)

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

If you value God’s approval, he becomes your advertisement.

  1. God will always ask you for sacrifice

Genesis 12:1- Promises

Genesis 15:3,9 – Covenant

Genesis 17:1-4 – Higher Level of Consecration

Genesis 17:5 – Identity

Genesis 22:1-4 – Sacrifice

God has called us but we fail in the place of testing. The calling is high, demand is big, expectations are high. However, we fail in the place of sacrifice and testing.

If Ishmael was there, he would be an offering rather than a sacrifice. A sacrifice has to be valuable, only one. Abraham must feel the pain of giving out his only son.

The son’s focus is on what is in the father’s heart not what he is to get.

You are not called to the mountain of sacrifice because you have chosen to be beast of burden. E.g. carrying immorality.

A donkey was used in carrying burdens and was left together with the servant who doesn’t care of anything as long as they get paid as time goes.

The mountain needs much energy. Don’t listen to the voices behind on people who remained behind the mountain.

We are missing on provisions since we never climb to the top where the Lord is providing a Lamb as we move forward.

Greatness is hidden under the rubble of sacrifice

Philippians 2:7-9

Philippians 3:1-7

Galatians 2:20

Hebrews 10:1-2

1 Corinthians 3:1-3

You don’t climb the mountain and remain the same.

Hebrews 5:11
